Richard Allan White CPA, CMA, CIA, CFP, CFM, CFE, CFF
Richard Allan White is an independent consultant providing various financial and managerial advisement services . He has a diverse background of experience and training in accounting and finance. He holds a MS in Personal Financial Planning from the College for Financial Planning, a BSBA and MSA in accounting with honors from Roosevelt University and a BSBA in finance from the University of Central Florida. He has also completed additional post graduate studies in finance from the University of Central Florida and the College for Financial Planning. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Financial Manager (CFM), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF). He has been employed by two major accounting firms (Arthur Andersen and Laventhol & Horwath), the Institute of Internal Auditors, and the Securities and Exchange Commission before becoming an independent financial consultant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Institute of Management Accountants, American Accounting Association, the Institute of Internal Auditors, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the American Association of Individual Investors.
Mr. White was a member of the US General Accounting Office advisory council for the GAO Standards, 1985-1987, which resulted in the 1988 edition of the Government Auditing Standards – Audit of Government Organizations, Programs, Activities and Functions. Mr. White also served as a co-researcher and author of a major IIA research report prepared for the National Commission on Fraudulent Financial Reporting (Treadway Commission) entitled “The Role of the Internal Auditor in the Deterrence, Detection and Reporting of Fraudulent Financial Reporting.” This report was published as The Institute of Internal Auditors Reports on Fraud, September 1986. This project was part of a major US effort that led to the development of internal control standards (COSO study).
His current research is in the area of ethics and earnings management.
